Laurey Shintani FPQP®

Laurey has been in the personal finance industry since 2016 and joined Financial Planning Hawaii in January 2022. She has a finance degree from Cal State Fullerton and holds her Series 7 and 66 securities registrations as well as a state of Hawaii Life/Health insurance license. In 2020, she obtained the Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional Designation (FPQP®) through the College for Financial Planning.

Laurey also holds a Masters in Elementary Education and, for the decade prior to entering this industry, she was a schoolteacher at Helemano Elementary School in Honolulu where she received Teacher of Excellence award honors. The communications skills she developed as a teacher paired with the planning knowledge base she has developed make her an ideal fit for Financial Planning Hawaii’s client engagement-centered ethos. Laurey joined FPH because of its genuine client-first approach.  Her passion for improving financial literacy and  including clients in the financial planning process is obvious from the moment you meet her.
